| 2008 MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE
On Monday, May 26th, two Memorial Day Observances will be held. The first will be at 8:00 a.m., at the Moorpark Veterans’ Memorial on the corner of
The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Forty & Eight, the City of
8:00am Ceremony: At the 8am ceremoney, Moorpark Post 502 of The American Legion and Troop 604 of the BSA will replace the current flags that have been weathered by the elements. These flags included the American Flag, our Nations symbol, the POW/MIA flag, remembering Prisoners of War and Missing In Action, and the Blue Star banner, which honors the men and women currently in uniform. The Commander of Post 502 will provide comments reflecting on the importance of the day’s ceremony. 10:00am Ceremony: At 10:00 a.m. in the Veterans' Memorial Grove at Poindexter Park, Post 502, Unit 502, Troop 604, the Kiwanis and members of the Forty & Eight (The American Legion Honor Society) will host a Veterans Day Observance. The public is encouraged to attend, especially veterans, along with activity duty and reserve military personnel. More information on this event will be posted shortly.
